Getting Started 6 questions
What is Musician Teacher?
Musician Teacher offers live, one-on-one online guitar classes taught by expert Indian instructors, for both kids and adults. We currently operate in 4 countries: the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia.
What ages do you teach?
Kids ages 10 to 18 on a structured, gamified track, and adults of any age on the Adult Hobby Track. Every lesson is matched to the student's current level, not a fixed age cutoff.
Do I need any prior musical experience to start?
Not at all. Our program is designed for absolute beginners as well as intermediate players. Every instructor tailors the lesson to your current skill level and pace.
Do I need to own a guitar before starting?
No, you don't need one for your free trial class. If you decide to continue, your instructor can help you choose an appropriately sized, affordable guitar to practice on between sessions.
What countries do you currently operate in?
Musician Teacher currently operates in 4 countries: the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia, with 250+ students taught to date.
Do you teach instruments other than guitar?
Right now Musician Teacher specializes in live, 1-on-1 guitar instruction for kids and adults. That's the one instrument we focus on getting exceptionally right.
Booking Your Free Trial 4 questions
Do I need a card to book a free trial?
No. Your free trial requires no card details. You only add payment information if you choose to enrol after meeting your instructor.
What happens in the free trial class?
You'll hop on a live video call with a real instructor matched to your goals, no pressure and no obligation. It's a genuine class, not a sales pitch: you'll play from minute one and get a feel for our live 1-on-1 teaching style before deciding whether to enrol.
How does scheduling work?
Tell us your availability, and we match you with an instructor whose schedule fits yours. Once matched, your weekly time slot is reserved exclusively for you, with no rotating instructors and no reassignments.
What if my time zone doesn't line up with your instructors?
We schedule flexibly across US, UK, Canadian, and Australian time zones, so most students find a slot that works, including evenings and weekends. Tell us your preferred days and times when you book your trial and we'll match you accordingly.
For Kids 3 questions
Does my child need any experience already?
No. The Kids Track starts from Level 1 and is built for complete beginners, progressing through structured, gamified levels.
What will they actually be able to play?
Every student works toward real, recognizable songs, not just scales and exercises. Most kids play their first full song within 4 to 6 weeks of starting.
What if they lose interest halfway through?
Classes are built to stay engaging, not just structured. If your child needs a change of pace, their instructor can adjust the song choice, the lesson format, or the schedule. A free trial with no long-term commitment is the easiest way to see if it's the right fit first.
For Adults 3 questions
Is it too late to learn guitar as an adult?
No. Most adult students start as complete beginners. Lessons build from the fundamentals at your own pace, with no experience assumed.
How does scheduling work around my job?
Classes run flexibly across US, UK, Canada, and Australia hours, including evenings and weekends, so you can build guitar into your week around your job, not the other way around.
Will I be switched between teachers?
No. Once you're matched with an instructor, you keep the same one every week. We don't rotate teachers between students.
Pricing & Billing 3 questions
Is there a discount if I pay upfront?
Yes. Paying for three months upfront gets you 15% off either plan, twice a week or once a week.
Is there a refund if I change my mind after enrolling?
Plans are non-refundable once sessions begin, since the time slot is held exclusively for you and isn't reassigned to another student. This is why we recommend starting with the free trial class first.
Can I reschedule or cancel a class?
You can reschedule a class if you let us know at least 12 hours in advance. Outside that window, the class is treated as attended and can't be made up, since this time slot is reserved exclusively for you.
Certifications & Curriculum 2 questions
Can I work toward a certification like Trinity, Rockschool, or ABRSM?
Yes. Your instructor can build exam preparation into your regular sessions for any of these three boards. It's entirely optional and doesn't replace the regular curriculum.
How long does each level take?
Pace varies by student, but most beginners move through a level in roughly 6 to 10 weeks with regular weekly practice. Your instructor adjusts based on how you're actually doing, not a fixed calendar.
