What Families & Students Say
Real words from real households across the UK, the US, Australia and Canada, learning guitar live, one relationship at a time.
Fitting Music Into Busy UK Schedules
Fitting music lessons around two full-time work schedules felt nearly impossible until we found Musician Teacher. The live one-to-one classes have been a great fit for our son, his teacher is patient, understands that he is a beginner, and adjusts the pace when he needs more time. We also appreciate the flexibility of learning from home.
For years I kept telling myself I would start guitar next month, but work always got in the way. What finally worked was choosing a teacher I could learn from live rather than following recorded videos alone. My teacher takes time to understand my goals and never makes me feel rushed, and learning at my own pace has made it much easier to stay consistent.
Finding a teacher who could relate to the music our daughter hears at home mattered a lot to us, which is why we specifically looked for an Indian-origin instructor. Her teacher is encouraging, explains the basics clearly, and gives her time to practise before moving on, and she now looks forward to her weekly lesson.
Picking up an instrument for the first time as an adult made me far more nervous than I expected. The teacher made the first lessons feel approachable and did not assume I already knew anything, and when I struggled with chord changes, we simply slowed down and worked through them. The feedback has been excellent.
Group guitar lessons hadn't worked out for our son, he often felt lost when the class moved too quickly, so we went looking for something more personal. His instructor pays attention to what he understands, answers his questions, and adapts the lesson when needed, and the one-to-one format has helped him build confidence without feeling pressured.
Learning On Their Own Time, Across The US
Between his school schedule and our family's own musical taste, we needed a teacher who could work with both. Musician Teacher has been a positive experience, his teacher is friendly, patient, and willing to explain things more than once, and the lessons feel personalised rather than like a fixed programme.
Balancing guitar lessons with a demanding job meant flexibility was non-negotiable for me. The live online format works well because I can ask questions immediately instead of trying to work everything out from a video, and my teacher takes my interests into account, which makes the practice feel relevant.
Our daughter's main motivation to learn guitar was being able to play the Bollywood songs and music she hears at home, so we were glad to find a teacher who understood that interest without skipping the fundamentals. Her teacher is supportive, explains the chords clearly, and lets her progress at a comfortable pace.
YouTube tutorials only got me so far, mostly because I never knew whether I was actually practising correctly. Having a live teacher has made a real difference, my instructor watches my technique, corrects mistakes, and explains why something is not working, and the lessons are adjusted to my ability.
Our son was hesitant about the idea of online lessons at first, so we needed a teacher who could put him at ease. His teacher took the time to understand his interests before deciding what to work on, and we appreciate the clear communication and the way the lessons are adapted to his learning pace. He is much more confident picking up the guitar now.
Bringing Music Home, All Across Australia
Getting to in-person lessons after school just was not practical for our family, so we started looking at online options. Musician Teacher's live guitar classes have made learning much easier to fit into our week, his teacher is attentive, gives him time to understand new concepts, and encourages him without putting any pressure on him.
Working full-time meant a rigid in-person schedule was never going to work for me, so flexibility was the deciding factor. The live online lessons have been excellent, my teacher understands that I cannot practise for hours every day and helps me focus on achievable goals. The feedback is constructive, and I never feel embarrassed about asking basic questions.
Staying connected to the Indian music our family enjoys was a big part of why we wanted our daughter to learn guitar. Her teacher has been very understanding of both her interests and her beginner level, the lessons are structured, but there is also room for her to ask questions and learn songs she likes, and that balance has made her much more interested in continuing.
I had started guitar lessons elsewhere before but stopped because the pace felt too fast for me. With Musician Teacher, I can simply say when I am struggling, and the teacher takes the time to revisit the basics. That individual attention and regular feedback have helped me build a much stronger foundation.
Showing my son a few chords was never going to be enough on its own, I wanted someone who would encourage him, correct his mistakes patiently, and help him build a real practice habit. His teacher has been excellent at exactly that. The online format is convenient, and the lessons feel genuinely focused on his development.
Building Confidence, One Lesson At A Time, In Canada
Our family's schedule is genuinely busy, so finding online guitar classes that could flex around it was a relief. The one-to-one lessons have been a great solution, his teacher is patient, explains concepts clearly, and adjusts the lesson when he needs more practice. We also value the flexibility of learning from home and the personal attention he receives.
Whether online lessons could actually work for an adult learner like me was my biggest doubt going in. The live one-to-one format has turned out to be much better than I expected, my teacher takes time to understand my goals, gives clear feedback, and adapts the pace to my ability. I never feel rushed, and I can see steady improvement.
Our family's background was something we specifically wanted reflected in our daughter's teacher, which is why we chose an Indian-origin instructor. Her teacher has been warm, professional, and very encouraging, the lessons are adapted to her level, and she is given enough time to understand each new skill. We especially value how comfortable the teacher makes her feel asking questions.
Teaching myself guitar independently never stuck, I would start and stop more times than I can count. Musician Teacher has given me the structure and accountability I was missing. My teacher is flexible when work gets busy but also keeps me focused on making progress, and the lessons are supportive and adapted to my level rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.
What mattered most to us was that guitar felt enjoyable for our son rather than like another academic class. His teacher takes the time to understand what motivates him, explains things patiently, and encourages him when he finds something difficult. The support has been excellent, he is growing more confident, and it is convenient that he can learn from home.
